Racer Log v.2.02 by Gerry Kichok /
**************** /
This is the very first HAP I created. /
/
For full page display shift-click top right corner.
To run, load application RACERLOG.HAL, it was created in mono
so if there are any problems in med-res let me know.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The Log is laid out in a weekly format to easily let you enter
daily totals. There is also a place to keep notes of your rides or any
other important data.
Click on the RACER graphic to save data, and TOTAL to
automatically enter your weekly total into the ODOMETER.hap .(Although
the first time the odometer record is saved the record number will be
wrong! just save it again and it should be fixed.) Also note that if
your weekly totals are less than 6 digits, including the decimal, the
number will be padded on the right side making it appear as 7.500
instead of 37.50.
The ODOMETER and COMPUTER Haps can be called by clicking the
respective buttons on the lower right of the screen.
Clicking the ODOMETER or COMPUTER buttons in their respective Haps
will cause the data inside to be saved.
The Week Number and Date are automatically entered, all you have
to do is select NEW rt-mouse-click, then enter the values for you
distance and rating your ride. (The Date didn't work correctly in
this version. But the weeknum value has be fixed using RECNO()-1 to
number the weeks instead of saving the value of RECCOUNT()-1.)
Creating a printout is easy. Load a new sheet of paper in the
printer, click PRINT in the RACERLOG.HAP, select HEADINGS.RPT, which
will create the page's Heading. Then click PRINT again and select
RACERLOG.RPT for the data to be printed out. Lastly, go over to the
ODOMETER.HAP and click PRINT and select ODOMETER.RPT for the yearly
total. The page will be eject automatically after and is set to 80
columns and 60 lines per page.
Any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated. On the HAP
that is, not the amount of riding or wieght please, because I've
enclosed my actual data for this year as an example, we've had along
winter here.
Need help, hit the HELP button. Readme file, hit Readme.
To enter your own data and get rid of mine:
1. run HyperLINK and load RACERLOG.HAL with my data.
2. delete record by record, all entries.
3. close all applications.
4. alt-click on RACERLOG icon.
5. select PACK file this will erase all deleted records. If you
don't do this the automatic numbering will not work.
7. note: because I want COMPUTER and ODOMETER to be non-logging
icons they can not be easily accessed unless you modify them
through the BUILDER.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Rating your ride.
Casual rides vary by intesity of 1-5
1-to the corner store
2-shopping trip
3-shopping trip thru downtown traffic
4-ride across town
5-any of the above but throw in a 15 min climb
Training rides vary by intensity of 5-10
5-easy medium lenght ride ALONE
6-easy medium lenght ride with others and including interval
training
7-moderate or above the average training ride
8-moderate ride with at least 5 intervals ~2hrs
9-high intensity group ride with other, set sprints for landmarks
10-training ride at race intensity or training for a TimeTrial
Races vary by intensity of 10-20
10-a race you didn't do any races in, or got dropped (yuk)
11-a good race, finished but nowhere near the front
12-finished in the pack, but riders where of the front
13/14-finished in a bunch sprint, but you didn't sprint
15/16-finished in a bunch sprint, but you didn't place
17/18-placed in a bunch sprint race
19-in the break group of riders and placed
20-a TimeTrial race (make sure you max out though)
This is very good thing to do, Why? Because the total tells you
what you are capable of riding each week. This way you can monitor
your progress through out the year. Set your peek times up for a race
and no what you are capable of doing. For example if you only
accumulate 40 points in a week in a year riding back and forth to
work, and you want to do a race on the weekend, after finding out how
hard the race will be by doing some training races with your club,
think about only riding half the time to work or you will be too
tired.
Please note these are only guide lines aimed to help you, I am
not a coach, but personally work with developing riders in order to
help them reach their potentials.

needs.****Let me know, I'm for hire and can be contacted through the
above means. Gerry :-)
Any data lost is not my fault, eh.
Please always make backups!

Changes
1.21 -> 1.22
The index field was labeled improperly RACER.NDX should
have been WEEKNUM!
Add NOTES every week. Looks for file RACER.TXT and search
for String from field DATE.
Moved the buttons around.
*Added version number display, click on it gives AUTHOR.IMG.
1.22 -> 2.01
Math! now supported just enter your data.
It is for this reason that there are 3 HAP's now. I have found that
this is the most convient for me.
Added ratings to the database.
Made the date and the weeknum automatically entered.***
*** I have been having problems with HL 2.01, and have uploaded messages
on the HyperLINK support BBS (416)389-9064, as to some of the problems.
**** For this reason, if you like the concept but not the set-up call
me and I will get you the modifications you seek.
Could not make the auto numbering or date work properly.
*** Note there is a bug in HL, if you access another hap the Weeknum
and Date fields will change to the Record Count/Current date on
return to the HAP. i.e. jump to the Odomoter Hap and the Weeknum field
in the Racerlog Hap changes to the Record Count when you return.
*** It is not saved or changed and is not recognized as being changed
unless YOU specified that you want it saved.
2.01->2.02
For the above reason I'm just labelling the records DATE field with
RECNO()-1 instead, then indexing on WEEK equal to RECNO()-1.
This feature has also been added to the ODOMETER.HAP, although in
both haps the record has to be saved twice in order for the Week
Number to be correctly displayed.
(The first time saved it will be 0 because the record is not saved
yet, and therefore not added to the total amount of records. Once
saved the RECNO() goes up by one so the next time saved it will be
correct.)
Have created Reports to be printed out, HEADING.RPT are the
headings for the printout RACERLOG.RPT.(please do not modify)
Have also fixed the TOTAL button so that the entire area is available.
Plus other visual changes.
